YOGURT CAKE

DIRECTIONS

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees
  2. Empty the yogurt container in a mixing bowl. Clean the empty container as it will be used as the measuring cup
  3. Pour the remaining ingredients in the bowl using the container as the measuring cup.
  4. Whisk the yogurt mixture until the batter is creamy and sooth.
  5. Butter a cake pan and pour the batter. Bake for 30 minutes or until cake is golden on top and cooked all the way through.

My mom writes, "Because it is so easy to make, this cake is the first cake that we learned how to bake. I still remember that Thursday afternoon in the Fall of 1967 when Mamy showed me how to make this cake. It is perfect for a nice afternoon snack."

As for me, I too love how easy it is to make and uses yogurt instead of butter. I also always have all these ingredient laying around so I never have to go to the store if I really want cake! It's a good substitute for shortcake as well.
